A Dynamic or Tactical model is adjusted based on market conditions and it will have multiple snapshots. The entire model history is used in the calculation of historical risks and returns.


Follow the steps below to create a Dynamic/Tactical model:


Step 1: From the Models page (Model Management -> Models), click on Add Model


Step 2: Make sure you choose Dynamic/Tactical model. 


Step 3: Enter model code, model name, model description. 

  • The model code is a short code to identify this model. A good practice to prefix with the initials of your firm's name. Example: AF_8020
  • The model's name is a descriptive name. Example: Advisory Firm 80/20 model.
  • Model description is a thoughtful model description is strongly encouraged as it is used in the Model Fact Sheet, Portfolio Report and Investment Policy Statement.


Step 4: Enter model positions. You can enter manually or upload a CSV file. Be sure to upload the entire model history. 

  • If you are uploading from a CSV file, you can download a sample file; the format is simple.


  • Adding New Security. If you enter model positions manually, click here for instructions for adding a new security.


Step 5: Click on Calculate Deep Analytics at the bottom of the Model Positions tab.
